1. Important Security Updates Supported: This year the Transport Layer Security (TLS) versions are being updated and will require Sage 300 versions 2020-2022. Stay Current with IRS Requirements: Not only do you get access to the latest tax updates required for the payroll module, Sage also releases updates to IRS forms like the 1099 when changes are required. (The 1099 specifically has gone through big formatting changes/requirements in both 2021 and 2020. Creating a custom 1099 form that works with older versions of Sage 300 is getting harder with each update.)
3. New Server / Workstation Software Requirements: Windows 11 has been released and the older versions of Sage 300 don’t support it. They also do not support Windows Server 2017 and 2019, SQL 2019, etc. If you want to keep your hardware and Microsoft software current, you need to stay on a version of Sage 300 that supports it.
